Lauren M. Cruz

Lauren Cruz represents investors in corporate governance, shareholder rights, and securities fraud actions. Her practice draws on her J.D. from NYU School of Law and extensive experience litigating governance failures across major public companies.

Lauren has played key roles in some of the most significant securities actions in recent years, including the historic $1 billion settlement in the Wells Fargo securities litigation. Her work frequently addresses governance failures, audit oversight issues, and structural risks affecting pension funds and other long-term investors. Lauren is currently litigating actions challenging multi-billion dollar transactions involving Nordstrom, Squarespace and R1 RCM.

She is an active contributor to national governance and securities discussions, with publications in Reuters, the ABA Newsletter, NCPERS PERSist and the Advocate for Institutional Investors. She regularly speaks at law schools and industry organizations on fiduciary responsibilities, shareholder primacy, and social justice in corporate litigation.

Before joining the firm, Lauren was Senior Counsel at Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann LLP and a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

Lauren also serves as the Board President of Mental Health Advocacy Services, a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to people with mental health disabilities in Los Angeles.  Lauren’s practice has also included substantial pro bono civil rights class action work, including litigation securing representation and bond hearings for immigrant detainees with indicia of mental health disabilities.

Lauren is admitted to practice in California and multiple federal courts, including the Ninth Circuit.
